Frederiksstraat is located between the Overtoom and Vondelpark with direct access to the park. The surrounding area mainly consists of characteristic late 19th-century residential buildings, giving the neighbourhood a cohesive and charming appearance. Around the corner on the Overtoom you will find numerous cafés, restaurants, gyms and neighbourhood shops, so daily amenities and lively hospitality are within walking distance. Public transport on the Overtoom offers quick connections to the city centre and various train stations, while by bike you can reach the Canal Belt and Oud-Zuid within minutes.

STREET NAME
The street name Frederiksstraat dates back to Frederik Schröder, who around 1880 provided a building loan for the construction of this street when the area still belonged to the municipality of Nieuwer-Amstel. Upon annexation by Amsterdam in 1896, the name could be retained as there was no other street with this name in the city.
